"God is Rewriting Your Story." πΏππͺπ "He is Doing a New Thing."
This morning I was thinking about how our lives are an open book to God. He knows everything about us, from the inside out. He knows our interests, and what brings us joy. And He also sees our sufferings, and knows what we have gone through in this life. He sees us. And knows us better than even we know ourselves.
He is the Creator of the Universe. And He knows the heart of every creature that He has made. π
As I was reflecting on the theme of "Being Fully Known to God." I was thinking about the collection of books that I have downstairs in my little library. I'm a private tutor, and have lots of children's books downstairs for my students to read. π Some of those stories are happy stories. While others have characters that are going through significant problems and hardships in their lives. Some stories are sad at first, but have happy endings. And then there are other stories that start out with bright beginnings, but then end on a tragic note. It is mainly the stories that I have for teens and preteens though. As children of that age are more capable of understanding the ups and downs of life more.
Every person on this Earth has a story. And if we get to know them more, by really listening and interacting with them, we then become part of their story.
Some of the people in our lives can be heroes and good role models. And then there are others who could turn out to be villains. Wolves in sheep's clothing. Sometimes the enemy uses people to come against us. Even within our own families. But it is important to remember that "we wrestle not against flesh and blood." It is the evil principalities that are causing these people to come against us like that. And all we can do is pray for them, and ask God to change their hearts.
We must also try our best to forgive those who have hurt us, and ask God to help us to do this. Especially when the battle becomes too much for us to bear or handle. Always remember that God is Sovereign, and that Jesus has already won the battle. The God of Angel Armies is always by our side.
When I think about all of the students that I have had the privilege of teaching over the years. I hope that I have been a good role model and influence in their lives. Many of them have now grown up, and have families of their own. I hope they remember how much I cared about them, and tried my best to make their learning experiences fun and engaging.
Some of the children that I have taught had learning disabilities, and a low self esteem. But some parents and teachers noticed a change in them, once I started to help them out. I know that it was God helping me to help them. And I always take the time to listen to their story. Those kids that I've worked with over the years have become my own adopted children. I can't have children of my own, due to a medical condition. So I could never have a family of my own biologically. Unless I adopted of course.
When I was teaching some students in Winnipeg a few years ago, two of my students, a brother and a sister, gave me this little bookmark. It was when I was getting ready to move back to Thunder Bay. So it was kind of like a gift of appreciation before I left. It was this bookmark that says, "Thank you for being part of my story." ππ
Today I was also thinking about "The Greatest Story Ever Told." The story of Jesus Christ Himself. It is all documented in the pages of the Bible. But more parts of His story are still being written, even right now. He wants us all to become part of His story. And also to be a "Living Testimony." A great cloud of witnesses. Testifying of all of the wonderful things that He is doing, in and through each and every one of us.
I was led to read Revelation 20:11-15 this morning. The one about the Great White Throne judgment. Where Jesus will be seated on His throne, and judging the hearts of mankind. ππ Our hearts will be opened up and laid bare in the sight of Almighty God. And there will be no hiding what's inside of them.
That is why it is very important for us to prepare our hearts right now. By repenting of our sins, spending time with Jesus, getting to know Him, and allowing the Holy Spirit to do His refining work in us. God wants to be part of our story. And He wants to transform us into vessels of honour carrying His glory and light to a broken and dying world. Then we will become a Living Sanctuary for God. He dwells amongst us, and is in us. ππ₯π️
God wants to be part of our story. And He also wants us to be part of His story.
A New Beginning With God πΏπ
The time is soon coming when God is going to erase all of the bad experiences and memories from our minds. We won't even remember the former things, and all of the pain and suffering that we experienced here, while living on this Earth.
God is going to give us beauty for ashes. πΉπΏ And the oil of joy for mourning. The garment of praise, for the spirit of heaviness. And we will be called trees of righteousness. The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. (Isaiah 61:3)
God is rewriting the narrative, and He is rewriting our story. π Our Heavenly Father wants to adopt us, and make us part of His Family! π
Two Children's Storybooks with a Deep Messages:
Their are two stories that I have in my collection that seem to be related to these things. The first one is titled, "The One and Only Ivan, Draw Me a Story." It is based on a real story about a silver back gorilla who was contained in a shopping mall for many years. But he eventually was relocated to a new sanctuary with the other animals, where he could finally roam around freely amongst nature and open skies. This book has a beautiful message about unity and love.
The second story is called, "My Yellow Balloon," by Tiffany Papa George. ππ It is a very moving and heartwarming story about loss. This is actually one book that I was led to, a few months after I lost my beloved 19 year old cat Pepper. It illustrates the emotions associated with grief. But it also shows the promise of a happy reunion in Heaven.
Here are a few songs that came to my mind, as I was reflecting on these things:
"Broken Wings," by Mr. Mister πΆπ️π₯ππͺ½π¦
"Peace is Flowing Like a River," by Carey Landry πΆπ️π₯ππ
"Sanctuary," by Jacy Velasquez πΆπ️π₯ππΏπ·πΉ
