Earlier today I received a song on my mind as soon as I woke up. It is called, "I Will Call Upon the Lord," by Cedarmont Kids.

The chorus of the song really stood out to me:

"The Lord liveth, and blessed be my Rock, and let the God of my salvation be exalted."

Then right after I listened to this song, I was thinking about the parable of the two houses. The house that was built on the shifting sand, of lies, compromise, and the vanities of this world. And the other house that was built upon the solid Rock.

The second house was able to survive the storms of life, because it was built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ, who is the Chief Cornerstone.

Troubles and hardships come to all of us in this fallen world. But in times like this, it is even more important to draw closer to God. He will direct our steps and show us what to do next. He will make a way where there seems to be no way. And provide for all of our needs while we are still here.

"Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."

It is important to remember that our Kingdom is not of this world. And we are eagerly awaiting a new Homeland. The new Heavenly Kingdom, whose Builder and Architect is God. 💕✨🕊️

I was actually thinking about "Homes" yesterday evening as well. It all started with one of my students, reading a story about different kinds of homes. One of the pictures in the book showed a cottage with a roof that looked like it was built out of straw, sod, or twigs. It kind of reminded me of the story of, "The Three Little Pigs." Another story I will post here in a bit too.

My student and I were talking about it, and he thought that living in a cottage like that would be dangerous. Especially if it was in the middle of a forest. He said that if there were ever a wildfire nearby, the roof would catch on fire instantly, and the whole building would go up in flames.

He also told me that one of his classmates lives in a "house boat," at the marina here. It kind of reminds me of Noah's Ark in a way.

These are the two pages of the story that seemed to spark this conversation. 😊

"According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building on it. Each builder must choose with care how to build on it. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,the work of each builder will become visible, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each has done.
